We learned a lot from spending time with our families while traveling. A favorite lesson was one about family competition. In one of our relatives' family there is only one kind of competition allowed: they try to outlove each other.
To love harder is a beautiful reason to try to win.

It can be simple but it takes intentionality. It also takes consistency and perhaps some optimism.
Nate and I are on the same team. As teammates we can't belittle each other, fend only for ourselves, or complain to others about our imperfections. We need to lift each other up and give our best, not just our leftover energy from the rest of life's commitments.
Love wins when we outlove. Relationships win when we outlove. Families win when we outlove.
